ECB Strategies is a consulting practice partnering with organizations, campaigns, and leaders to tell their stories, grow their movements, and supercharge their impact.

Ev Boyle is a strategist, coach, and philanthropic advisor with over 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and movement building.

He has worked across the social change ecosystem as an organizer, impact investor, fundraiser, and executive, led national grantmaking portfolios, co-founded civic tech companies, and taught workshops and university courses on social entrepreneurship and nonprofit development.

Today he consults with nonprofits and mission-driven companies on fundraising, program design, and organizational development, helping them turn their values into clear plans, powerful storytelling, and lasting results.

Services

  • We help organizations design clear, realistic fundraising goals and then execute on them. This includes sharpening your case for support, mapping and prioritizing prospects, drafting and editing proposals, and building simple systems to track progress and stay on top of relationships.

  • We support foundations, donor collaboratives, and individual donors in designing grantmaking strategies that align their values with the needs of organizations doing the work. This includes portfolio design, RFP development, participatory grantmaking processes, and learning and evaluation.

  • We partner with executive directors, senior staff, and emerging leaders as thought partners and coaches. Together we work on leadership style, role clarity, team dynamics, communication, burnout, and big decisions that keep you up at night. We also support boards with meeting design, retreats, and candid conversations about strategy, governance, and fundraising expectations.

  • We help founders and teams turn ambitious ideas into practical plans. That might mean clarifying your mission and theory of change, pressure-testing your model, identifying early metrics, or deciding what you should stop doing so you can focus.

  • We help organizations and funders think beyond single projects to the broader ecosystem they’re part of. That can mean designing new programs, clarifying how your work fits into local or national movement strategy, or supporting collaborations across sectors like media, democracy, worker power, and civic tech.

  • Not every challenge fits neatly into a box. We also take on custom projects such as strategy memos and decision-making frameworks for leadership teams and boards; convenings, retreats, and workshops for coalitions or cross-sector partners; messaging and narrative for campaigns, reports, or websites; and program design documents and cases for support.

Clients & Community

Let’s work together.

If you are interested in working together, the first step is a conversation and consultation. We will talk about your goals, what’s getting in the way of achieving them, and what kind of support you need.

I work with clients through:

  • Hourly consulting and coaching

  • Short-term projects with clear deliverables

  • Ongoing monthly retainers for deeper partnership

If there’s mutual alignment, we’ll work together to design a partnership that fits your organization’s size, budget, and capacity.
